Startup Your Business With A Business Loan

By Amanda Hash

It is not necessary to wait until you have a lot of money to start up your business. The time is now. The market may change and make things difficult and you could be left with the bitter taste in your mouth of not having taken the decision at the right moment. Business is not only about buying and selling. It is about taking the right decisions at the right moment.

Do Not Let Others Beat You To It

If you have detected a niche in the market that you can fill in, go for it. Do not waste time watching to see what happens, whether it is the right moment or not. Waiting gives your precious time to others. Rushing to do things without a proper planning is not good either. You have all the ideas in your head, so just write them down, on paper or on your computer and make a checklist of everything you need to open your business.

Niche Marketing

Your first attempt should consider every nail and every sheet of paper needed to get your business going. There will always be time to cut down on unnecessary things later on. I talked about a niche above, because niche marketing is very interesting. Once you detect the niche and the needs it has, you tailor a product or service for that niche and you already have a market, without having to spend precious cash on random advertising. What little advertising you will have to carry out, will be specifically directed to your niche.

You will have time later on to expand and add products to your line, innovate and improve, to widen your scope, a little at a time, so as to grow steadily and firmly and surpass the critical moment. It is said that 80% of new businesses do not make it through the first year.

Start Closing The Circle

Once you have your business plan ready, you can start to think of a business loan. Considering what is mentioned in the previous paragraph, every lender knows the risks that a new business implies. So, this risk will have to be shared, in the form of the provision of some asset of yours, whether private or dedicated to the business, to show confidence in your own project.

Very few loans will be granted on the business plan alone, however brilliant it may appear, so bear this in mind and place your car, truck, a piece of land, whatever it may be, as collateral from the very beginning. Do not wait for the lender to ask for it.

Some Additional Considerations

When you start to fill in the numbers in your business plan, consider the loan payment in advance. If you take the trouble to calculate how much you need and how you will repay it, making it participate in the general cash flow, it will give the loan officer a good impression. For this, you will need to shop around and get free quotes, not to be confused with applications.

The interest rate will vary slightly from lender to lender and depending on the amount and collateral you offer, but in general there is no great difference. The main difference in these matters is your decision and how you prepare your way for your new activity.

Eight Californians seriously ill after eating live shellfish

Saturday, September 9, 2006

Eight Californians contracted a rare lung infection after eating live sawagani crabs at several southern California restaurants.

The freshwater crabs, also known as river or regal crabs, were purchased in several restaurants, including Riptide Rockin’ Sushi & Teppan Grill in Mission Viejo and Chomp Rockin’ Sushi & Teppan Grill in Fullerton. The crabs were infected with a parasite called paragonimus, a flatworm similar to lung fluke.

The parasite travels to the lungs six to ten weeks after ingestion. Symptoms include coughing, diarrhea, breathing problems, chest pain, abdominal pain, fever, and hives. The worm can spread to other organs, including the brain.

According to Wikipedia, about 5,000 Americans die of foodborne illness every year.

Colorado College Tigers win 41st annual Great Lakes Invitational tournament

Friday, December 30, 2005

The Colorado College Tigers beat the Spartans of Michigan State University in men’s ice hockey on Friday, for the title of champions of the 41st annual Great Lakes Invitational ice hockey tournament at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

The Tigers, the team chosen to be invited into the tournament and appearing for the first time since 1965 in the tournament, led with a 5-0 lead during the second period, after which Michigan State switched goalies. The Spartans put freshmen Jeff Lerg into net, replacing Dominic Vicari, who was earlier given a penalty for his contact with a member of Colorado’s team in front of the net. Michigan State junior Tyler Howells scored two goals during the second period, and Colorado student Brett Sterling made the Tiger’s final goal for the night.

Colorado College took first place in the invitational, and Michigan State ended in second place, after their previous win over Michigan Tech at a score of 3-2. The Tigers previously beat the University of Michigan on Thursday, at a score of 6-1.

Meanwhile, the University of Michigan beat GLI co-sponsor Michigan Tech University with a score of 5-3 for a third place finish in the invitational earlier in the day.

With 2 minutes remaining in the third period, the University of Michigan went one up over Michigan Tech, breaking the 3-3 tie. Michigan Tech pulled their goalie with one minute remaining to gain a man advantage, but the strategy failed and allowed the University of Michigan to get another goal resulting in the final 5-3 score.

The game secured the third place position in the invitational for University of Michigan, and fourth place for Michigan Tech.

Witnesses saw truck “rev up and race” before recent Texas oil refinery blast

Friday, April 1, 2005File:Map of USA highlighting Texas.png

Witnesses say a truck was idling near the scene of an explosion at a Texas refinery which killed 15 and injured over 100 others on March 23, according to U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Manager Bill Hoyle.

“Witnesses saw vapor in the area of the truck and observed the engine begin to rev up and race,” Hoyle’s statement said. “This behavior by a diesel engine indicates the presence of a flammable atmosphere entering the air intake. A driver reported trying to shut off the engine but was unable to do so.” Hoyle’s statement continued, “There are multiple possible sources of ignition in an operating refinery unit and we have made no determination about the ignition source at this time.”

The investigation has been delayed by BP and Occupational Safety & Health Administration officials, who are trying to preserve evidence at the site for their investigation. They are also concerned about further injuries from hazards left over from the explosion, such as falling debris and unstable structures. The Environment Protection Agency also detected benzene in the atmosphere over the plant, which was treated with a layer of foam.

BP has retained control of the plant since the March 23 accident. Police arrived quickly the day of the explosion, but left after the initial emergency was over.

“Our officers could respond over there, but they don’t have a clue,” Texas City police Sgt. Curtis Pope told the Houston Chronicle. “The fact is they have chemical and equipment hazards. We don’t know the chemicals.”

The Complex And Precise Work Of Agricultural Grain Dryers In Oregon

byadmin

To feed livestock throughout the cold winter months, owners of these animals must have access to large amounts of dry food like hay and pellets. Grain Dryers in Oregon can be integral in the process of feeding animals when farmers do not have their own silos or grain elevators. The owner of one or two horses can get through the winter by buying or bartering for hay from local farmers and by picking up oats from the feed store. But, larger enterprises require a substantial amount of food.

Grain Storage

Many farmers have a feeding system in which they grow a large acreage of field corn, allow it to dry after maturity, and then harvest it and store it right there on the farm. Others must buy their feed from a local enterprise. The sight of huge grain elevators is common throughout the country on the edges of its agricultural centers. Those elevators not only store feed for animals but also seed for the next season’s crop planting.

Complex and Precise Processes

Drying wheat and other foods in Grain Dryers in Oregon is a complex process that is intended to be as precise as possible. Operators of this equipment understand the temperatures at which various grains dry most effectively without reducing their nutrient content.

Optimal air flow is important, so every single grain dries uniformly. The most important effort is to eliminate moisture, which is a significant risk factor for mold and fungal growth. Spoilage of a batch of grain would be a major hit to the financial plan.

Investing in the Equipment

Sometimes, a farmer who doesn’t have any drying or storage equipment decides it’s time to invest in this agricultural infrastructure. A large amount of money is required the upfront, but it can pay off relatively quickly. This businessperson not only reduces the costs of feeding animals on site but can sell feed to other owners of livestock. Maximum profits are achieved, and so is convenience for the workers and the quality of the food. Anyone who is thinking about buying some of this equipment may Visit Leon James Construction Company online today.

Market maker Bernard L. Madoff arrested in $50B ‘giant Ponzi scheme’

Correction — January 10, 2009 This article incorrectly states that Mr Madoff attended Hofstra University Law School. His education was actually with Hofstra College, which he graduated from in 1960.

Friday, December 12, 2008

Top broker and Wall Street adviser Bernard L. Madoff, aged 70, was arrested and charged by the FBI on Thursday with a single count of securities fraud, also known as stock fraud and investment fraud. He allegedly told senior employees of his firm on Wednesday that his $50 billion business “is all just one big lie” and that it was “basically, a giant Ponzi scheme (since at least 2005).” Mr. Madoff faces up to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $5 million. FBI agent Theodore Cacioppi said Mr. Madoff’s investment advisory business had “deceived investors by operating a securities business in which he traded and lost investor money, and then paid certain investors purported returns on investment with the principal received from other, different investors, which resulted in investors’ losses of approximately $50 billion dollars.”

The former chairman of the Nasdaq Stock Market is also the founder and primary owner of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC, the closely-held market-making firm he launched in 1960. The firm is one of the top market maker firms on Wall Street. He founded his family firm with an initial investment of $5,000, after attending Hofstra University Law School. He saved the money earned from a job lifeguarding at Rockaway Beach in Queens and a part time job installing underground sprinkler systems.

A force in Wall Street trading for nearly 50 years, he has been active in the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), a self-regulatory organization for the U.S. securities industry. His firm was one of the five most active firms in the development of the NASDAQ, having been known for “paying for order flow,” in other word paying a broker to execute a customer’s order through Madoff. He argued that the payment to the broker did not alter the price that the customer received. He ran the investment advisory as a secretive business, however.

Dan Horwitz, counsel of Mr. Madoff, in an interview, said that “he is a longstanding leader in the financial-services industry with an unblemished record; he is a person of integrity; he intends to fight to get through this unfortunate event.” Mr. Madoff was released on his own recognizance on the same day of his arrest, after his 2 sons turned him in, and posting $10 million bail secured by his Manhattan apartment. Without entering any plea, the Court set the preliminary hearing for January 12.

Madoff’s hedge fund scheme may rank among the biggest fraud in history. When former energy trading giant Enron filed for bankruptcy in 2001, one of the largest at the time, it had $63.4 billion in assets. The scheme would dwarf past Ponzis, and it would further be nearly five times the telecommunication company WorldCom fraud and bankruptcy proceedings in 2002.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a separate civil suit on Thursday against Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities and its eponymous founder Mr. Madoff. It was docketed as “U.S. v. Madoff,” 08-MAG-02735, by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (Manhattan). SEC, New York associate director of enforcement, Andrew M. Calamari, asked the judge to issue seizure orders on the firm and its assets, and appoint a receiver. The SEC pleads, among others, that “it was an ongoing $50 billion swindle; our complaint alleges a stunning fraud that appears to be of epic proportions.” It further accused the defendant of “paying returns to certain investors out of the principal received from other, different investors” for years. Madoff’s hedge fund business had previously claimed to have served between 11 and 25 clients and had $17.1 billion in assets under management. But virtually all of the assets were missing.

United States District Court for the Southern District of New York Louis L. Stanton on Thursday appointed Lee Richards, a Manhattan lawyer, as the firm’s receiver. A hearing is set for Friday, for a ruling on the SEC’s petition to grant plenary powers to the receiver over the entire firm, and an absolute asset sequestration.

Doug Kass, president of hedge fund Seabreeze Partners Management said that “this is a major blow to confidence that is already shattered — anyone on the fence will probably try to take their money out.”

Wikinews interviews U.S. Libertarian presidential candidate Wayne Allyn Root

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Wikinews held an exclusive interview with Wayne Allyn Root, one of the candidates for the Libertarian Party nomination for the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

Root is the founder and chairman of Winning Edge International Inc., a sports handicapping company based in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, he is an author and a television producer, as well as an on-screen personality both as host and guest on several talk shows.

Root, a long-time Republican, declared his candidacy for the Libertarian Party on May 4, 2007.

He says he is concerned about the qualities of many who run for president, and fears that they do not know the needs of American citizens. He also says that they cater to big businesses instead of small ones.

He has goals of limiting the federal government and believes that the US went into Iraq for wrong reasons. A strong supporter of the War on Terror, he feels that it was mishandled. He has conservative values and came from a blue collar family in New York. He graduated from Columbia University with fellow presidential hopeful Barack Obama in 1983.

Root believes that America is in trouble and hopes to change that if elected.
