Raising Your Vibrational Frequency For Good

by

Anne West, Ph.D.

Have you ever witnessed someone walk into a room full of people and by their mere presence the energy in the room either elevates or drops? It is a scientific fact that humans are energetic beings. Our brain waves can be measured as an electrical frequency by EEG, EKG, MRI, etc. As a society, we have accepted, albeit subconsciously, the detecting of our own and other people’s energetic fields.

We detect and respond to one another’s energy without even comprehending what we are sensing. Within ourselves, we have highs and lows, which we experience emotionally: depression is a low, joy is a high. These are high and low emotional expressions of our own vibrational frequencies. There is a range, going from bliss and enlightenment which is the highest frequency, down to depression and despair at the very bottom, which is the lowest frequency. All other emotions fall in between in descending order of high frequency to low frequency. Once we recognize that our vibration and our emotions are inter-connected, we have a greater ability to purposefully raise our frequency by using our emotions as a frequency gauge. If you are feeling good, your vibration is high. If you are feeling badly, your vibration is low. It is as simple as that.

Raising our vibration is valuable for a number of reasons, the most important of course being our own emotional and mental health. But raising our vibration has additional benefits, many of which are societal. Raising your vibration to one of compassion affects everyone that you have contact with in a positive way. Benevolence and unconditional love expressed through you to those around you has a spreading and multiplying result. In addition, holding on to lower frequency emotions such as anger, resentment, and depression increase your risk for many of the chronic diseases that are now prevalent and are almost completely preventable. The positive healing effects of higher frequency emotions, such as hope and joy, have been studied extensively.

One of the most effective ways of raising your vibration is to quiet your mind. Relieving yourself of the destructive ego chatter of lower emotional states by quieting the mind allows room for higher emotional frequencies, such as happiness and joy.

This all came to me clearly when I was experiencing extended periods of joy. I had days and weeks on end of utter joy from the adjustments that I had made in my life. One day, while in this state of joy, I realized that my mind was quiet and that I had very few thoughts. The thoughts that I did have were thoughts like “bird!” “ocean,” “beautiful!” “nice breeze…” “thirsty.” I took notice of this and began to question what had happened to my ego chatter. I did not miss the endless gibberish of my ego mind and felt such quietness in my mind that I wanted to be sure that I could continue to feel joy, which seemed to bring quietness of the mind, or was it the other way around? Which came first, I wondered, quietness of the mind, and then joy? Or joy, and then quietness of mind? Honestly, I do not think it matters, but the point is that we want to feel joy, which is a very high frequency, and if we are not currently feeling joy, quieting the mind is surely a way to get to joy.

The most effective and powerful way of learning to quiet the mind is through meditation. I have heard that all of the successful self-help spiritual leaders include meditation as part of their daily routine. I meditate as soon as I wake up and right before I go to sleep at night. If you are like most people, you are thinking all the time. This thinking mind is actually a false self; you identify it as you but in reality the authentic you that is buried beneath your chattering you is quiet and peaceful and not thinking at all. To find out more about the importance of quieting the mind, read Eckhart Tolle’s bestseller The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment .

Icelandic government passes Icesave deal; €12,000 debt per citizen

Thursday, December 31, 2009

The Icelandic Prime Minister Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir and her coalition government narrowly escaped a commitment to resign as a €3.8 billion bill to repay British and Dutch savers following the collapse of Icesave online banking passed. The vote margin was only three votes.

Only a matter of hours before the anticipated final vote, Wikileaks announced the disclosure of one of 23 documents suppressed by the Icelandic Minister of Finance: an apparent legal summary of meetings between Icelandic and EU representatives held in Brussels in November 2008. The leaked document discusses the then-assessed liabilities of Iceland at 60% of GDP, considerably higher than the reported 40% which repaying Icesave deposit holders entails.

Amongst the other details in the report is emphasis of the deep-seated anger of the Icelandic people at the situation around the financial collapse, particularly the UK’s use of anti-terrorism legislation in its approach to the country’s banks. Iceland’s interpretation of the situation, and its financial treaty obligations with the EU, considered foreign deposits lost through force majeure. All 27 EU members disagreed with Iceland’s interpretation and Peter Mandelson, although he resigned from the Barroso Commission in October, presented the legal position that Iceland could not pass legislation that did not ensure treaty-mandated minimum balance returns from failed Icelandic banks.

Leaked private communication from Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, Iceland’s then-foreign minister, compared the potential liabilities the country faced with the reparations imposed on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles in the wake of World War I.

Three banks failed in the financial crisis: Kaupthing, Glitnir, and Landsbanki. As the list of creditors emerged it was found that, among others, UK councils had around £900 million with the banks. Landsbanki agreed to repay the majority of funds held, giving council depositors priority status. Approximately £200 million on deposit with Glitnir is at-risk; the bank has stated the councils will be treated equally with all other creditors seeing them likely to only recover 30% of the amount Glitnir held.

Kaupthing faces other difficulties. The UK’s Serious Fraud Office began an investigation earlier this month into the bank’s UK activities. At issue are allegations savers were misled into selecting one particular account type, plus suspicious financial activity suggesting substantial amounts were moved out of the bank in the days prior to its collapse.

At present, UK councils have received little more than ten percent of their over £900 million deposits. They are among over 8,500 creditors claiming a staggering total of £20 billion. The largest single claimant is the British Depositors’ and Investors’ Guarantee Fund seeking €5 billion, and, of some note, Formula One racing team Williams claiming around £10 million in unpaid sponsorship from Glitnir who took on the liability from the Icelandic buyers of Hamleys.

This article is a featured article. It is considered one of the best works of the Wikinews community. See Wikinews:Featured articles for more information.

Debt to 84% government-owned Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) by Glitnir stands at around £500 million; much of the actual debt written off in 2008 as RBS posted £24 billion losses. Further write-offs by the bank are expected to total less than £50 million.

Icelanders resented the discovery that fifteen senior ex-employees of Landsbanki claim €14 million between them, including a single claim of €2.7 million. Suspicion exists that the banks arranged substantial interest-free loans for various of their shareholders and executives.

Today’s announcement of the Icelandic government’s agreement to pay out €3.8 billion keeps their application for EU membership on-track, although each one of the country’s 320,000 citizens effectively faces a €12,000 debt.

Saudi Arabia blocks access to Blogger, Flickr, LiveJournal

Monday, October 10, 2005

The government of Saudi Arabia blocked access to Google‘s Web blogging service Blogger, Yahoo!‘s photo sharing website Flickr, and the diary service LiveJournal as well as some other websites through their nationally run Internet Services Unit (ISU) last Tuesday. As a result, English-speaking Saudis were prevented from publishing blogs, reading journals, or viewing pictures on Flickr.

The Saudi Arabian government uses a filtering service provided by the United States-owned company Secure Computing. Similar blocking services have been implemented in other countries, such as The People’s Republic of China.

In the past, the ISU had, on and off, blocked access to BlogSpot.com’s free hosting service. However, according to activist organization Reporters Without Borders, “blog services [applications] had not until now been affected by the ISU’s filters. The complete blocking of blogger.com, which is one of the biggest blog tools on the market, is extremely worrying. Only China had so far used such an extreme measure to censor the Internet.”

On Thursday, access to Blogger.com was restored, but Flickr and LiveJournal remained inaccessible. The ISU did not release any public statement about the blocking or restoration of service to any specific website.

Because of this, eating the plant can help regulate blood sugar levels, therefore helping people with diabetes.
